I work full-time as a therapeutic trainer, helping people with ME, chronic fatigue and related conditions to recover their health and well-being. My own experience of living with ME for 10 years, my qualifications in health promotion, education and counselling, and my previous career in health education teaching and research, all provide firm foundations for my current work. I developed ME in 1996 and, like so many others, lost my career and my central role in family life as a consequence. I tried various conventional and alternative treatments and therapies over the years, and finally recovered my health using the mind-body techniques of the Phil Parker Lightning Process®. I was in a wheelchair and virtually housebound when I attended the training course, yet three weeks later, I was holidaying in Spain – still wobbly on my legs, but on the road to full recovery. Recognising the power of this mind-body approach, I went on to train in NLP, Hypnotherapy and Life Coaching and qualified as a Lightning Process® practitioner. I enjoyed two rewarding years teaching the Lightning Process® to people with ME, chronic fatigue and similar conditions. Alongside my training, I used my research skills to explore what makes for successful outcomes, and what developments and changes might benefit my clients further. Having achieved Advanced Practitioner status, I moved on from the Lightning Process® to become an Independent Practitioner. This independence gives me the freedom to adopt a more flexible approach to the training I provide, and enables me to incorporate client feedback and respond to client needs. I am passionate about my work and derive great pleasure from standing by my clients on their journey to wellness. I look forward to working with you. “The
fact that you had
severe ME and recovered … that’s
given me so much inspiration and confidence." Debbie
